Biography
Christian Eder (*1964 in Bregenz) is an Austrian contemporary artist based in Vienna, Illmitz and Bregenz.
Since 1999, he has lived and worked between these locations.
He works on paintings and object-based works developed ober extended periods.
His practice focuses on concrete painting, structural systems, and object-based visual forms.
He reduces pictorial language to essential parameters such as line, rhythm, and surface, developing
systematic compositions as evolving visual logics.
Working in long-term series, Eder creates works that are not isolated images but part of continuous
visual structures. These structures shift through repetition, variation, and displacement over time.
Eder’s work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Austria and internationally.
His works are held in public and private collections.
